Wermelskirchen is located very close to other big cities such as Cologne and Dusseldorf and is centrally located in Europe. It is one of three medium-sized region in the Rheinisch-Bergisch district (NRW) and is located approx. 30 km northeast of Cologne in the immediate vicinity of the Bergisch city triangle of Wuppertal, Remscheid and Solingen.
The proximity of the airports Cologne/Bonn and Düsseldorf ensures good international connections. The direct access on the BAB 1 highway offers excellent transport links to the main road network both in a north-south direction and with the BAB 3 highway in a west-east direction.
